Flowers and flitter glue

Hi folks I couldn't resist making another cream and white flower card. I stamped and embossed on Parchment and cut out my flowers. Stamped onto cream card using Papermania butterfly background again. This time for the bottom I matched up my Hero art stripe stamp. For this card I wanted a Gate fold. I have used a Spellbinder die,  a white button for fastening my card and a bit of ribbon and some gems.

After I decided to have a little play with my flitter glue, not really played with this before. Found it a bit stricky but managed to get a few stamped images that were passable.
For my first card I gilded some wording, I think it would be better just one colour next time. I also made some roses and glittered them with stickles. The leaves I made with airdry clay and H20's. I also used Marainne die, and a Nellie Sneddon die.
This card was made with Marianne ribbon die , Spellbinders delight die and Tattered Lace die. Sorry don't remember who's the stamps are.
The last card was using the Nellie Sneddon die and Spellbinders dies plus card candy and gold pearls.

Well that's it for my playing .I'm off to the doctors this afternoon. It's still absolutely freezing here so off to put some more layers on. Have a good day  and I wish you all a Happy Easter what ever you are doing. Love and Hugs xChrisB

A mixed bunch today

Well its a mixed bunch of things to show you today. I have made a couple of quick easter bags for Maddison to collect her eggs with this weekend.

I also have a card I made for my Husbands birthday last Friday. It is not how it started, it was going to be a rectangular card. I had spent ages stamping and colouring and inking, trying to keep him from seeing it. He was in and out and was driving me mad. He came in and wanting to talk to me so I had the card hidden. I wasn't realy listening and he went off in a huff. I had inked my sponge up with ink and forgot I had not blotted it and rubbed it onto my card.
Card ruined after hours of work, thought I'm not starting again I will have to do something with it. So I Die cut it, made a frame out of three seperate die cuts . Out came everything from the cupboard inks, stamps and promarkers. I carried on the canal by drawing it with a black promarker and then just stamped some grass. All this time OH still kept trooping through, next thing I spotted I had a black mark over the roof of the house so had to look for another tree stamp to cover it.  Card finished  not how I wanted it but I think it turned out passable.
My son as just bought a very old canal boat and hubby had spent a week trying to get it back from Wales. So  he was thrilled to bits with his card.

My last card was inspired by Sue Wilsons white and cream theme. I started by stamping and embossing with detail white powder onto white card .I used Papermania's Urban butterfly background stamp onto cream card. I also stamped a free butterfly stamp from Craft Stamper magazine. I then cut the card and mounted it over the top of the white card. Wrapped white lace and cream ribbon and stuck it down. I then stamped and embossed again with detail white on Vellum 12 Vintage floral flowers  and shaped them. Then added pins and pearls to finish. Sorry the picture isn't very good, it's realy hard to show the stamped embossing.
Hope your all having a good week, I'm off now to have a bit of a clean up and do some clothes folding and general tidy up. Teas made and Hubby is at the boat until Friday so I can put my feet up and watch some telly tonight. Tattered Lace dies are launching on Ideal World tonight at 9p.m so keen to see how they have used them. I saw quite a few of the dies in Hobbycraft  a couple of weeks ago. I think they are very badly packaged you couldn't tell what some of them were supposed to be and the word ones you couldn't read backwards.
Mind you I do like the Oval one that jumped into my basket. The wording on Hubby card was made with that set.
Happy crafting see you soon. Thanks for calling by for a visit. Hugs ChrisB

I've been a busy bunny.

I've been a busy bunny these last two days. Cutting and sticking, I managed to make the first two pages of my first scrapbook. I have to put some journaling on after. The first page is at Dover and the second page is when we arrived at the Hotel in Garda I have inked  around the backing paper and stamped with my Italian script Kanban stamp.
Today I have been busy washing and ironing, when I had finished those jobs I was tired out so sat and watched a bit of tv.
This evening I have made two cards. The first one uses my new Heartfelt vintage floret stamps. I saw Sue using them on C&C, but I ordered mine from Sunrisecrafts. I just got the stamps and cut my flowers out and then shaped them with my embossing tool. I added black pearls to the centres. I stamped and embossed the trellis background and glittered it, stamped the sentiment which is one out of a set from Hobbyart.
For my second card I embossed the background on Centura pearl card, then embossed it again onto the lemon card. Cut out the oval from the center and posioned over the first layer. I then cut a medalion with out the outer edge, then cut it again with a scalloped circle die. Matted onto glitter card, stamped a sentiment in grey ink, also added a bow and some bling.
I hope you are warmer than me at the moment it's freezing here and we are awaiting the snow to arrive again. Have a good weekend and keep warm. Thanks for visiting, take care. Hugs x ChrisB

Monday 18 March 2013

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I went into town on my own as by friend Pat was busy. I had bought a 8x8 Papermania scrapbook in the sale from the Range sometime ago. I wanted some extra pockets for it and to see if I could get some extention posts. I got there and they have totally changed the scrapbooks. There  new scrapbooks were £14.99 with no pockets in, they were selling the 8x8 but not stocking the pockets. How stupid is that, I ended up purchasing some Mirror card and a pack of Gorguss papers as I thought they would be great to use in my scrapbook.
I then headed to Hobbycraft and had a look around there . A Tattered Lace die just found it's way into my basket. Well a girl as to treat herself doesn't she.
I got home about three o'clock and sat for the rest of the day as my feet were absolutely killing me. The doctor as put me on three Pegabalin tablets a day to help them. But he as told me they will never get any better only gradualy go worse., It was my chemo that damaged the nerves in both my hands and feet.

I have made a card using my Carly Duff download I coloured her with promarkers, the bp is from a free cd A year of cardmaking Dvd Serif . I have used two of the Nitwit papers that are on there. The greeeting on the card is from my Tattered Lace die. It cuts 3 Ovals and the greeting as well. I added glitter and gems to the card as well .
I spent three days last week printing photo's off my computer, Helen had finally sent my some pictures from It our holiday in Italy last October. I fell and lost my camera, I was upset as I wanted to have a go at making a scrapbook. I have been cutting some of my photo's out and mats and layers also die cutting some of them as well. I can't stick anything yet as I have sent for some Callall photo glue. Can anyone tell me if it is ok to use in scrapbooks please.
Thanks for visiting hugs x ChrisB

Thursday 14 March 2013

Hi had a lazy  morning, then had to go to the dentist this afternoon. I was dreading it as half a tooth had broke out about a month ago. She said it was fine as  it had been root canaled before and she wouldn't have to take it out. So she just filled it, fingers crossed it stays ok.

On a lighter note my friend Janet has Making cards magazine every month and last month they sent her two magazines. She told them and they just said give it to a friend. So I was the lucky friend. So thought I would have a go at making some cards . I have made 3 so far and loads more pictures to go at.
For this first one I used creative expression lattice embossing folder ,I  cut out the lattice and then inked it. I found the ivy leaves in my stash  I put glossy accents on the cats eyes.
For this one I embossed the card using script cuttlebug folder. Added a strip of paper for ribbon then cut two die cuts. Then added the little kittens glossy accents to the eyes and stickles glitter to the flowers.
Love this image it remines me of a very old picture of my Dads dog when he was a young man. It was a sheep dog called Fan and his master wanted rid of him, as he was a good dog but wouldn't work with another dog. So he gave him to my dad, my dad said it was so frightened when he took it off the farm . It had never seen a car or any traffic and it would only walk rubbing up to any wall as far a way as it could get from the traffic.

Well thats it for today hope you have been having a good day. I really wish it would warm up a bit I've been frozen all day inspite of the heating being on.
Keep warm and happy crafting. Hugs thanks for visiting. X ChrisB

Tuesday 12 March 2013

Another freezing cold day here again, a real bitter wind that cuts through you. Glad to say I'm staying in, still trying to get rid of my cough.
Decided to play with some stamps by Penny black that I bought ages ago and have never used yet. I have stamped and embossed with Cosmic shimmer embossing powder. Cut them out and layered one down the side of my card. I then used a Heartfelt creations stamp and coloured it with promarkers and added a bit of stickles glitter glue. Also a tiny bow.

For the second card I used two of the borders embossed and layered on each side. The card I layered onto I embossed with a cuttlebug folder. I then stamped with another of the set of Heartfelt stamps and used promarkers again. I then cut it out using my spellbinders, added glitter and bow.

For my 3rd card I used the bit I cut off my A4 sheet from the last card and made a little dinkie card. I used a kiesler stamp stamped the main butterfly again and coloured it with glossy accents over the top. My photo's are not good today. the cards look much better in real life. For some reason it looks like I have two different ribbons on the last. They are both the same ribbon. I 'll master a camera yet, hopefully.

Hope it warms up soon I'm sick of being frozen even with my thermals on in the house. Hope your week is going well. Hugs x ChrisB

Thursday 7 March 2013

Got some cards to show you today. The first two are made with a stamp I picked up out of Crafty Patch craft shop in Chorley. A great bargain as it was half price, I think it's a lovely frame. On the first card I stamped and and embossed the frame onto Crafters companion  white centura pearl card. I used Brass Wow powder. The backing paper is from a Paper Cellar Pad called Victorian classic I embossed around the edge.  I added a strip of Lace and ove rwrapped with ribbon, made three paper flowers from the same backing paper added pink pearl to match the pink shading on the paper. Glittered the flowers and the image. Added a bow and Pearl pins.

The second card uses the same frame and embossing powder, then onto the inner part of the frame I stamped using a little stamp belonging to one of Sheena Douglas flower stamp sets Beauty is also from one of the sets. The backing paper is from a Making Cards magazine which I overstamp. Coloured my stamped image with promarkers and added pearl and a bit of glitter. Cut out two little butterflies from some acetate I have had years, added glitter on the back and a bow and ribbon at the bottom.

The last card I quickly made yesterday from Crafters Companion Angelica and friends cd. I used a card companion a ribbon border, rosette which I cut to look more like a flower a bow. I cut two Spellbinders fancy label tags and mounted them behind my image and added glitter.
Sorry my photos are not very good. I am still full of a cough and it's on my  chest so been coughing most of the night. Hope you are all keeping well and having fun crafting. Thanks for visiting, I appreciate all your lovely comments. Take care Hugs x ChrisB

Short post
