Baby's Christening Day

Hi folks hope you've all had a good week and a great weekend. I have had a very busy week, it's my busiest time at work for the next few weeks, which is very tiring and have been nodding off as soon as I've had my evening meal.
I have managed to do so crafting staying up until midnight to try and get it done. I was commissioned to make a  Christening card, the brief was Pink, White and Silver with butterflies and flowers. I have fingers crossed that the lady will like what I have done. I have used a 8X8 craftwork cards blank. Used a pink bp which my friend Pat kindly gave me. I printed the white bp from Joanna Sheen's Baby love Cd, used white lace, Mariane die, Go Kreate die, Rubber stamp, promarkers, pearls, flourish swirls punch ,flowers and I cut some butterflies from some old embroidered organza Bridal fabric. I also decorated the inside of my card and the envelope.

The second card I made this week was a quick card for my daughter's boyfriend to say thank you. He made a Dvd last year of my Daughter Helen's  cyling holiday across India and Tibet, and he as just kindly made me a copy. I  copied photo's to make the card. He is a very keen biker so hopefully he liked it.
Thanks for taking the time to visit. Hugs x Chris

Bahhumbug Challenge 3 cracker.

Hi folks the challenge this week at Bahhumbug was to put a cracker  somewhere on your card. I had to do some trawling for this one. I knew I had seen a backing paper somewhere on a cd with crackers. Wow! It took me ages to find it. I printed a pale blue background one. But my photo doesn't do it justice. I decided to draw a cracker shape, I cut it out and glittered the ends, threaded my ribbons through and made bows.  Added a red oval shape, then I cut a circle and embossed it with my cuttlebug. The image was recycled from an old Christmas card. Added bling onto the red layer.
Thanks folks for visiting, hope you have a good week and happy crafting. Hugs x ChrisB

Thinking of you.

Hi, tonight I've made a Thinking of You card. One of our customers at work as found out she as cancer and as to have her breast off next week. I thought I would make this card to let her know I will be thinking of her.

The Image is from Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams cd.  It's printed on acetate and layered onto white glitter card.  It's beautiful, it lights up and shows all the beautiful colours in the daylight. But is very hard to photograph. I have to say a big thank you to my friend Pat as she gave me the image already done. My printer had given up the ghost and gone to printer heaven. Glad to say I have a new one.  I cut the swirls with sizzex die and used punched out flowers from textured wallpaper . Added bead centers and Acetate printed butterflies and peel off sentiment. I also decorated the inside. The image is holding a lovely crystal and radiates all beautiful colours from it.

Bahhumbug challenge 2 Stencils

Hi folks, this week at Bahhumbug the challenge is to use a stencil. I after admit that this one was a real challenge  for me. I thought I would use one of my brass stencils. I have a few but have to hold my hand up and say I've only used them about three times in all the years that I have had them, and thats quite a few.
I have used the 3Kings stencil and taped it to my dark blue card and put white mat paste through it. I then mounted it onto some silver and gold fancy mirror card. I chose not to use a Christmas paper, instead I chose an Elusive image paper as I wanted it to reflect the rich colours of the east with the gold scroll ribbon. I added tiny star gems to some of the stars in the night sky. Also purple gems in the corners and on the sentiment to match the paper.  The sentiment is a Lilli of the valley rubber stamp and I used a die cut to mount this onto.

I won!!!!

Good morning folks I hope your all having a good weekend. I 'm having a good one, I went on Bahhumbug yesterday and found out I had won!! Couldn't believe it my first challenge card ever and I had actually won  alovely prize of a stamp and Cd. Thank you girls.  A nice reason to watch for the postie instead of rotten bills we usually get.
I haven't made a card yet to show you, but I have been busy behind the scenes. I saved some biscuit tins and chocolate boxes from Christmas, so have been sorting my stash out and my storage. Tidied three shelves in the wardrobe and three drawers and got rid of three bags of rubbish. I'm terrible for hoarding bits so decided to be strong and just throw them. I have to go through my material cupboard yet. That is crammed to burting. I work with fabric and its so difficult not to bring the rubbish home. I have stacks of beautiful A4 sized pieces  or smaller of Bridal laces all beaded. I just can't tip them in the bin so when the designs get deleted and bits are thrown they nearly always end up here. I just need to find something to do with them.
Enjot the rest of your weekend. Have fun. Thanks for visiting. Hugsx Chris

Touchy feely card.

Hi everyone a card style change today. My neighbour wants a birthday card for a friend. She is registered blind.  I have tried to make a touchy feely card. I have used some of a kit that I have had for ages. The Front is a piece of very thick plastic  that is flocked and a lovely scalloped edge.  I have added Ivory Pearl card under that. On top I have decoupaged the flowers that have glitter on. I punched holes and fastened them together with Ribbon. The sentiment is Peel offs. I hope she can feel what it is like.
Thanks to everyone who as visited my blog and left lovely comments for me I really apprecate it. Hugs x Chris

Look Deeply into Nature

Hi I have made this card for my Brother for his birthday. I have entered it into Phindys Place Challenge  for Distressing. It's only the second challenge I have entered and the 1st at Phindy's place as I don't have any of there images yet.
I used Jenny Mayes tree stamp and birds , I also used a Stamp Addict swirl stamp for on the bacground and a Viva wording stamp under the trees. The Sentiment stamp is by Sheena Douglas. The backing paper
is one from Elusive Image and the dotty one was free from a magazine I think. I used two Die cuts. Go Kreate pointy frame and Spellbinders Labels H. The distress inks were Rusty Hinge, Black Soot, Wild Honey, Stormy Sky, Broken China,Weathered Wood. I also used Vera Magic, Sea Breeze and Adirondack Denim. All the stamping was done with Archival Jet Black. The lines across the writing were done with the edge of a piece of card. I also added Inkessentials white pen to the trees.

First Challenge card

Hi folks well I've done it. I've made my first ever Challenge card, I'm entering in to the Bah Humbug Christmas Challenge its - Holly and  Fairies.  I decided to put both on my card. I have used a Digi Stamp it's a Lilybean Fairy. I'm sorry but I can't remember where I bought it from. I coloured the fairy with promarkers then distressed the background. I then stamped the holly and vine in dark green. I used white stazon to stamp snow over the top but it doesn't show very well on my photo. I added glitter to her wings. The Mirror Holly card is from Kanban and the bp was free in a magazine . The greeting is from a set of Anita's stamps I bought from Tescoes.

Dreaming of better weather

Hi, hope your all getting back into your crafting. I'm trying to keep up with my card making schedule for January. This year I have about 73 Birthday cards to make plus about 75 Christmas cards. I decided to try and keep organised this year if possible. I would also like to try and join in with a couple of challenge blogs this year. Thats something I haven't done before. I don't know if I'll manage it with working and minding my darling granddaughter everyweek. But I'm going to have a good try.
Today I heard it was going to snow again and I sat dreaming of better weather, so here's my card. I used a stamp by Sheena Douglas and coloured it with distress inks. My BP was a free one from a magazine and a Elusive Image one. The small tree is a minature from Nature's Beauty from Crafty Individuals. The Sentiment is a stamp from Lili of the valley. I also used a spellbinders die and added some bling.

To My Valentine.

Hi thought I would have a change and make an early Valentine card. I was very lucky enough to win a set of hanglar stamps from the very generous Jaks blog last year. I adore them and this is my first play with them. I stamped the images and coloured the letter holder with distress inks and Promarkers . Also stamped the little girl and coloured with promarkers and added glitter. Stamped my flower with script stamp with Viva letters and script stamp and the background with the swirl stamp from the same set. Added some pearls and coloured the heart bling with my matching promarker. I also used two die cuts using my cuttlebug.

Happy Birthday Bear.

Hi have used an old card for this card. Thought I would try a bit of upcyling.
I cut the image out with my Labels fourteen die. I then used two bits that were left over from a Nellie Sneddon die cut. I layered them together and laced them together with the ribbon onto a card I had embossed with a cuttlebug folder. For the card Background I used some stamps designed by Sam Poole, called Buttons and Buttons Floral. I used punches to create the flower , swirl and leaves.

Birthday Picnic

Hi, had a busy day today taking down all the Christmas Decorations and trees and doing a good clean up.Then just as everything was upside down the phone went. My Son and Grandaughter Maddi were coming round. Piled everything onto the bed and went and played at dancing for a couple of hours.
Just finally got straight after cooking tea and washing up at 9pm. Boy was I ready for a sit down.
My card  was made a with a free decoupage pack. My daughter bought me a subcription last year as a surprise for Mothers Day. I thought I would make a few quick cards for people that don't apprectiate stamping.
