Swinging about in the trees

Another week has flown by and we are nearly into February already can't believe it. I've been busy this week trying to get ahead with some cards for February. They are for my crafty friends who have birthdays in that month.

These are stamps that I have played about with for the first time. Monkeys swinging about in the trees. I thought they were fun to make. I have made the back ground papers on both the cards using the resist method. I hadn't tried this before and I'm quite pleased with how they turned out.

I'm off to play with my other animal stamps now as I have my grandaughters second birthday coming up soon . I'm going to make a card using them as she likes animals.

This card is for my brother's birthday.

I have been playing with my Elusive Image stamps, this is the first time I have used this image. I Brayered a glossy card with Kaleidacolor desert heat ink pad. Then overstamped with the bird image. I glittered the branches and coloured some of the flowers using glaze pens. When it was dry I stamped the image again and cut out the birds bodies to make a mask. I then stamped the birds through the mask using a crackle stamp and the moon. The wording is also from the same stamp sheet. The paper is also an Elusive Image paper. The background of the card was stamped using a birds tail in versamark ink. I then dusted with mica powders in copper and aqua. I have the inside to finish yet but thought I would post it now. I love this set of stamps.

Rush Job

Got in from work tonight and thought I could have a quite night and just chill. Sat for a couple of hours then made my way up to my craft room. Saw a list on the wall of dates and went OH NO!!

I make all my neighbours Birthday cards for the year and spotted one I hadn't made yet. So I have had to do a Rush job with this card. It needs to be posted and be there for the 21st. I hope she likes it.

Off to bed now as I'm really tired.

t

Today I have used a stamp I have not used before . It is a stamp from a set of different buildings that can all be stamped together if you want to make a scene. They are called Lilliput lane.

I have coloured the cottage with watercolour pencils. The backing paper is an Elisive Image paper and also the words are from a set of Elusive image stamps. The flower for some reason as turned out blue on the photo, but is lilac in real life.

I have also made a new style of card. This is the first time I have done this style. It is called an easel card. It seems very popular at the moment.

The Green backer behind the image was made with a Spellbinders Die . The Gold one was using the Mandala embossing board. The Image it's self was using a Nellie Snellen frames die.

Here are the two quick cards I made last night, The papers are from making cards magazine some time last year. I've just made the design up myself. I just want to make quite a few of very quick cards to have in my box. I have quite a few of cards just to give out for birthdays at work and I'm always on the last minute making them the night before. I thought this year I would at least try to be organized more.

I like to spend more of my time on the cards I make for my crafty friends who I know appreciate all the time and love you put into making a card.

I must apologize for my lack of photographic skills one of my pics is terrible.

Hi everyone at last have resized my photo and can post on here. This was a card I made for one of my neighbours for her daughters 60th Birthday. I took the photo and forgot I'd not put the number on. I put it in the gap under Happy Birthday. She was really pleased with it.

Last night I made a couple of very quick cards using some of the free papers from a craft magazine . I have promised myself to use them all up instead of hoarding them. This year I want to try and make a hole in the mountain of craft stuff I have aquired over the past 8 years of playing about making cards. I will try and take a picture of the cards tomorrow if I get time.

We have had some more snow here today, but not much . Fingers crossed it stays away tonight.

Hubby's just told me it's supposed to be getting a bit warmer at weekend. I can't wait lets hope it gets rid of this aweful snow and ice. Hope everyone is safe and warm. Thanks for continuing to visiting my blog.

Sorry I have not posted for a while I have only made two cards since Xmas and I forgot to take a photo of the first one. I have managed a photo of the other will resize it tonoght and try and post it. I have been working in my craft room, slowly sorting and refiling all my papers and card, stamps and other bits. I have managed to get rid of three bags of rubbish, Not that it looks any different. But at least I know and feel a bit better.
I have been feeling very down at the moment. I think it as alot to do with the weather. I just wish the snow would clear up and go. I have been out to work, but that is the only place I have been since before Christmas, so that is not helping. Hope to post something interesting soon.

Happy New Year

I'm sorry I haven't posted over Christmas. I haven't done any crafting. I've been very busy getting rid of clutter. I thought I would have a good start for the new year. Managed to get rid of 7 dustbins bags full of stuff. I even managed to get other half to go through his wardobe and fill 1 bin bag of stuff. Now thats a miracle.
I have been in my craft room for two days sorting things out and re-organising things. Hopefully so things will be easier to find. I have thrown two bags of rubbish away. Not that you would notice. It's still bursting at the seams. I have promised my self not to buy anything else in 2010 until I've used some of my stuff up. Hm!!! I wonder how long that one will last.
I would like to wish you all a Very Happy New Year and a healthy fun crafting one, hugs to you all.
