Homemade Pick of the Day.

Hi folks caught the end of Pick of the Day on C&C today. The new Inkadinkado system  would really like it but can't afford the price. Decided to have a go at making my own system here is a photo of what I used.
Here is my first stamping from it. I'm quite pleased how it worked out. Will make it into a card later.

I also finished a card off today that I started last night. I have made a sewing reel card and used a new set of stamps that I got a several weeks ago from Anna Marie at the Leigh show. This is the first time I have inked them.
Off now for an early night as my Grandaughter is coming to stay tomorrow for 10 days. Happy crafting.
Thanks for calling by. Hugs x ChrisB

Yipee!! I don't believe it

Yipee!! I don't believe it  we've actually had two lovely sunny days together. I thought I'd better make the most of it as it's suppossed to rain again to morrow. Yesterday I did 3 washer fulls of washing and while that was drying I managed to fill my hanging baskets and my plant pots . I had to sit down quite alot of the time but I managed to do them all. I also planted up my Granddaughters Ladybird Wellingtons that she grew out of a couple of years ago. They are only small but they look quite  cute on my pebbles amongst all my shells. I just have to finish repainting  my  wooden Sandpiper and then he can go back amongst my shells.
I have also spent today washing everything else in site , they are all dry unfortunately waiting to be ironed. Thats an aweful word if every there was one, think I'll have to put my blinkers on around that pile.
I have a couple of cards to show you they have both been made with only things that have been recycled from my post this week. The first one the turquise card back was some packaging that came free with the lovely embossing folder. The topper was cut from a piece of card that came from  some more junk mail. The flwer was given to me by a friend.  I inked and glittered and added 2 gems also used my spellbinders to cut out the sentiment from some more waste.
The second card was made using an image that came from an envelope that was junk mail. I cut it out and glittered it added a backing paper that was out of my bit box  added a bit of ink,  then stamped a sentiment.
I still have a nice little pile to recycle yet.
Hope you all have managed a lovely day today. Crafty love and hugs x ChrisB

Birds and Lace

Hello hope your all well. I have had a busy day today, shopping, washing, cutting OH hair, making tea and making  a card. Feeling rather tired now. I'd better get on with it before I fall asleep.
I was rummaging about in one of my craft drawers when I came across a piece of remnant card from another project. It had some lovely vintage birds. So thought I would stop on the vintage theme and make another card. I inked with weathered wood added a tag, inked music paper and some letters and lace. Hope you like it.

We have had sunshine and showers here to day but it's been really cold. It says the same for the weekend. Hope it's nicer were ever you are. Just in case I don't get chance to get on here tomorrow. Enjoy your bank holiday weekend. Crafty Hugs x ChrisB

Diecuts and Lace

Evening everyone I've used Diecuts and Lace to go abit Vintage. I have loads of lovely lace pieces and thought I would try and use one today. I also wanted to use my lovely Heartfelt Blossom diecut. I also used an image that one of my crafty friends kindly sent me yesterday from a lovely bundle of images. Add to that some metal embellishments, flowers and Gilding wax the other image and backing paper are from  the Vintage Making cards special.

I have also manged to make two other cards still running on my mens theme. They are both music related. They are made with the Mens Making cards magazine from ages ago.

Well that's all for today I really must have a look at my e mails then try to have a tidy up before bed. Happy crafting. Thanks to everyone who stops by. I really apreciate all your comments. Happy crafting take care. Love and hugs x ChrisB

Been fishing.

Hi folks  I've been fishing today as I thought I'd better do another mens card for my box. Thought I'd try something abit different. So did some masking and inking as  I haven't done any for a bit. Really enjoyed making this card. I also tryed my hand at doodling around the edge, not done it before except sewing stitches. Quite pleased with it so will be doing it again.
This morning I had a visit to the doctors. I've been struggling with my walking since I had my chemo last year, I have periphal neurothapy. I have also fallen a few times, the last one a fortnight ago when I fell just going to the bin. He did some reflex tests and sensation test and wasn't very happy. So he is making me an appointment to go and see a Neurologist. He said it would take about 5 to 8 weeks to get an appointment. So I will just have to wait now and hope nothing else is going on.
Hope you are all having a better start to the week. What we need is a lot of sunshine to cheer us all up. Not much chance of that  I think. Oh well playing with out craft stuff keeps us happy. See you soon thanks for calling by. Hugs x ChrisB

Busy week

Hi everyone, sorry not posted any cards had a very busy week. Was at the doctors Tuesday, then had Maddison  after school, Wednesday, Thursday, then our usual Friday and weekend. She is a joy to have around , but I find it very tiring trying to keep up with her. We were playing at winning the lottery this morning and taking all the babies, all 5 of them and all their clothes and pram on the plane to Florida. Boy I was shattered when she had gone home and I had tidied up. But we had such fun.
I have some cards I made the other night to show you. The first one is a Fathers day card for my hubby, he likes playing tennis. I have used the Man about Town cd by Kraftyhands.
The next card I have been playing about with trying to punch around a circle, the corners are from a friend.
The roses are from a hunkadory sheet that was free with my monthly subscription magazine. Sorry I have got a reflection from the mirror card. Also the next card uses another of the Hunkadory toppers I have used gilding wax on the embossed background.
Sorry another bad reflection.
Well off now to browse some blogs. Off to bed a bit earlier as I have a  another visit to the doctors tomorrow. See you soon Love and Crafty hugs x ChrisB

Krafytyhands competion winner

Hi folks I have just found out that my card won the April's Kraftyhands challenge blog . I am hoping that someone can help me. I have won a blinkie and I don't know how to get it to my sidebar and linking back to Kraftyhands. I am really thrilled I never thought my card would win.
I'm sorry that I have not posted this week but have been having trouble with my internet modem keep flashing on and off. I have been on to Sky and I'm hoping that the problem as been found.
I have managed to make two cards. The first one uses the Papers and Image from Chic Boutique Deluxe Edition. Which I think is still on offer at Kraftyhands website for Half price £9.99 it is a double cd. I have made a shaped gatefold card and glittered my backing paper. Also added some die cuts and flowers that I made using the rose backing paper from the cd.

My second card I have made for a friend who adores Quilting I will be sendin  it to her as it's her birthday next week. I have made a quilt and added some tools.  I used Grandma's Button box cd by Katy Sue designs.
I stamped the needles and the cotton holders and wrapped some cotton around them and added real buttons. I had lots of fun making both of these cards yesterday.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Happy crafting. Hugs x ChrisB

Sunday, 5 May 2013

Hi folks hope your having a fun bank holiday weekend. I went out with my friend Pat yesterday into Bolton. She was looking for a outfit for her grandchildrens christening, but didn't manage to find anything. Bolton as just gone down hill with most of the shops closed down and all looking a mess. Not many shops to choose from for our age group. Still got some everyday t shirts, so the day wasn't a total loss.
I feel very tired today, mind you my son was working last night and I had to get Maddi to bed. So it was late before I sat down, I had about an hour watching tv then decided to go to bed.  She woke me up again at 6.30 as her daddy was asleep. She sat and played until 8.30 then we went down for breakfast, then we played , she also wanted to look at all her old baby photo's on the computer. She was so good all weekend ,a darling  treasure.
I have made a birthday card today using a  cd off Joanna Sheen. It's for a very dear friend who I call Dad he loves gardening. He will be 87 next week. I have got him a clock for his garden, it is a birdcage and bird, so hence the little birds on his card. He lives in Yorshire so will have to get it wrapped and posted.
This other card I made on Friday it's another black and white card using die cuts.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday. Happy crafting Hugs x ChrisB

I've had a lovely day today, Hubby had managed to get a couple of trays of Viola for 25p at Tescoes reduced. It was nice so decided to put new compost in my window box and plant them. I'd also bought some bulbs from the Pound shop last week so also did a couple of tubs with them.  Last year we put small pebbles down over our small garden and put tubs on. I also had a few shells so put those around my tubs also two glass bouys and a wooden Sandpiper bird. Maddison went to the seaside on Saturday and bought me a lovely bag of Pebbles, crab shells and shells back. She picked the dark pebbles with the white stripes in as she said they were Lightning rocks. I stacked her pebbles up on top of each other  and tonight she scattered her shells around the garden. The bird is having a make over, it's just had it's first coat of Modge podge and then I can paint it with Acyrlic paints.
I have just made a card. I have to admit having been watching C&C and pinched an idea for my card. I have had a bird and bird cage die for about a year and never used them, so I dug them out and got cutting. Here is the result a glittered cage and a black and white card. Hope you like it folks. Thanks for dropping by. Crafty love and hugs x ChrisB
